Bias in the Byline
It is amazing how the American press is willing to overlook the bias inherent in the byline.
The only reporters allowed to operate in Khan Younis must have Hamas approval. This means that every statistic, every “dead child” reported, should raise the eyebrows of the western press.
There is not one report of a demonstration against Hamas coming out of Khan Younis, not one lament about the treatment of an Israeli hostage. Instead, we hear about Israeli defensive actions, shaded in as belligerent a manner as possible, and only afterwards see there may have been something to provoke it, like another rocket barrage aimed at Israel.
Where is the reporting of the disgusted Gazan civilian? Either he doesn't exist, which is possible given the radicalization rampant in Gaza, or any expression of or reportage on such disgust would bring a summary execution (of the reporter, the dissenter, or both) at the hands of the representative government of Gaza, and then be reported as a victim of Israeli aggression.
I suppose as long as it fits your narrative, you will use this reportage, but this isn't honest journalism anymore, if there ever was such a thing.
Maybe it would be better if you laid off the international coverage altogether.
I could provide you better balanced coverage, as a Jew, from my desk in Bridgeport.
